ASTD programs include:

:: Monthly Meetings ::
Monthly meetings are educational sessions on topics directly related to training and development or new and emerging trends in HRD and training. These meetings provide an exciting professional forum for the community to network in the field and typically draw between 60-100 attendees.

Local Speakers
Consultants are welcome to submit a request for proposal to speak. Speakers should be seasoned practitioners, preferably leaders in the field, with national credibility in the topic. ASTD-VOS seeks speakers who show us both the theory/research behind a topic as well as some practical "how to" that can be applied in the day-to-day work of our members.

:: Collaboratory Meetings ::
Collaboratory meetings are free monthly events that provide our membership with "quick hit" knowledge and skills in a specific area related to training and development. In addition, Collaboratory meetings provide a fun informal setting for networking with local training professionals.

Schedule
Collaboratory meetings are the fourth Wednesday of every month for 2004, excluding November and December when we break for the holidays.

Meetings are always 5:30pm-6:00pm networking; 6:00pm - 7:30pm program
Locations vary; please check the Calendar for actual topics and meeting locations

::
Knowledge Management Forum ::
The Knowledge Management Forum was founded to provide a meeting place for ASTD members and others interested in exploring knowledge management and its key relationship to continuous learning in organizations. The meeting format is informal, informative, and highly interactive. Topics have included:

  • Models and definitions of knowledge management
  • Knowledge Management certification process and rationale
  • Practical tools and methodologies
  • Initiatives in local organizations
  • Building communities of practice
  • Technology demonstrations
  • Impact of Knowledge Management on Performance Improvement

:: Special Events ::
ASTD is devoted to professional development. To accommodate your needs, we are developing a variety of workshops. Check out the Calendar for the next event.
