ASTD-VOS offers members many opportunities to interact with other practitioners and develop new skills. Special interest group programs include:
- Communites of Practice
- Workshops
- Discussion Boards provide you with the opportunity to post questions on the following topics:
- eLearning
- Instructional Design
- Measurement/Evaluation
- Resources
:: Communites of Practice (COP) ::
Communities of Practice offer an opportunity to meet with peers who have an interest in similar topics. ASTD-VOS is starting several COPs this year (see the complete list above). These small groups meet on a regular basis to explore their topic, share best practices and keep up with the latest information. COP meetings are free to members and non-members alike (so bring your friends).
Formats vary depending on the focus of the COP. You can participate in as many COPs as you want. Leadership of COPs change annually, so there is always an opportunity for you to partner with and serve other members of ASTD-VOS.
For specific COP meeting times and details, check the SIG Calendar or click the appropriate COP noted below.
::
Workshops::
The ASTD-VOS chapter provides its members with unique opportunities to improve their skills and knowledge through chapter sponsored workshops. You can check for upcoming events here.
:: Discussion Boards::
A discussion board is an asynchronous communication tool that allows a member to post a comment or question online. Other members may read that comment/question, and respond with their own remarks over time.The discussion boards are free and open to everyone.
:: Resources
::
The resource page provides a place to post links, wikis, blogs, book titles, podcasts; in other words, any resource that can help ASTD-VOS members learn and develop. |
