.:About ASTD-Valley of the Sun

Our Chapter
This chapter was chartered in 1947. It now has 514 members; a percentage of those are also members of the National ASTD organization.

Our members represent financial and educational institutions, retailers, hospitals, high technology firms, manufacturing, government agencies, service industries, construction, tourism, publishing and airlines, as well as independent consultants and students. We meet regularly on the last Wednesday of each month, for either lunch or dinner. Meetings include a program with speakers selected for their expertise in a particular training or management area.

In addition to the state-of-the-art knowledge gained from these meetings, socializing and networking with others in the field are exciting aspects of our chapter. Information on each meeting is published in the Chapter newsletter and on the website.

Code of Ethics
The Valley of the Sun ASTD Board of Directors recognizes and affirms this national ASTD Code of Ethics. Members are encouraged to learn and be guided by this code of ethics in all their professional activities.

The ASTD Code of Ethics describes the standards of conduct of the Human Resource Development professional. Just as important, this Code makes clear that clients and employers should expect from ASTD members the highest possible standards of personal integrity, professional competence, sound judgment and discretion. Developed by the profession for the profession, the ASTD Code of Ethics is the Society's public declaration of its members' obligations to themselves, their profession, and society.
